Creality Official CR Touch Auto Leveling Kit

Upgrade for 3D printer Creality Ender 3 Pro: CR Touch automatic bed leveling kit.

Introduction

Today I want to share with you a small but very useful upgrade for the 3D printer Ender 3 Pro.

This is the official CR Touch automatic print bed leveling kit from Creality.

CR Touch is designed to simplify the process of print bed calibration, which is important for ensuring high-quality and consistent 3D printing.

Benefits of using CR Touch

  1. Automatic print bed leveling - CR Touch automatically detects and compensates for irregularities on the surface of the print bed, which improves the adhesion of the first layer and the overall print quality.
  2. Time-saving - Thanks to automatic leveling, time that was previously spent on manual bed leveling is saved.
  3. Increased accuracy - CR Touch uses a sensor to determine the distance between the nozzle and the print bed, providing more accurate leveling compared to manual methods.
  4. Versatility - The kit is compatible with many Creality 3D printer models (Ender 3, Ender 3 V2, Ender 3 Pro, Ender 3 Max, Ender 5, etc.), making it a convenient solution for users of different printers.
  5. Ease of installation and use - CR Touch is easy to install and configure, making the calibration process accessible to beginners in 3D printing. The kit includes mounts for various 3D printers, including my Ender 3 Pro.

Installation of CR Touch

The installation of CR Touch is quite simple and takes only a few minutes. It is very detailedly described in the instructions , that come with the kit.

After installation, you need to update the printer’s firmware to enable it to work with CR Touch. You can find the firmware for your printer here: Creality CR Touch Firmware.

Calibration of the print bed with CR Touch

CR Touch uses 16 points for print bed calibration, which allows for more precise detection of its irregularities and compensates for them.

You can see how the calibration process works in the video below:

Result of the calibration

To test the quality of the calibration, I printed a test model of a cube and measured it with a caliper.

Measurement results:

  • X: 20.00mm across the axis
  • Y: 20.00mm across the axis
  • Z: 20.00mm across the axis

Before using CR Touch, the measurement results were less accurate and varied from 19.70mm to 19.95mm along the Z-axis.

Overall, I recommend getting this upgrade if you have a printer from Creality. It will improve print quality and save time on bed calibration.
